Don’t Do It Mike!!!

By Jueseppi B.

I know….marriage is what you make of it……Mike, Don’t Do It!!!

Michael Jordan was finally ready to make an honest woman of his longtime lady love, Yvette Prieto.

The announcement comes five years after Jordan split from his wife of 17 years, Juanita. The $168 milliondivorce settlement was one of the most expensive in history, which might explain why His Airness has been dragging his feet with Prieto.

MJ and Prieto have managed to keep a relatively low profile, despite the fact that he is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world. No doubt Michael Jordan today feels like he is walking on air for the first time since quitting basketball.

The legendary Chicago Bulls player has just got engaged to his long term partner, Cuban-American model Yvette Prieto. The pair have been dating for the last three years, so Michael, 48, doubtlessly feels the 32-year-old is the woman for him.

The North Carolina native got down on one knee recently, and his spokeswoman confirmed today she had accepted his proposal.
However she added that rumors he was spending this week celebrating on a private yacht overseas were untrue. So far there are no details about when they plan to walk down the aisle.

Michael has been married once before, and was with his first wife Juanita for 17 years before their relationship ended in divorce in 2006.

They had two sons together, Jeffrey, 23, and 12-year-old Marcus, and both went on to play the game that made their father famous at university. They also have an 18-year-old daughter Jasmine.

The couple had been set to get divorced in 2002, but they attempted an unsuccessful reunion, before finally dissolving their marriage in 2006. Juanita’s reported $168 million divorce settlement was the biggest celebrity settlement up to that point

AND THAT is reason enough NOT to do this Mike. Ok, she is fine, and has her own career, and her own cash….but please get a pre-nup!!

I couldn’t pass up this story…sometimes politics will make you angry, so this is a bit of comedy, well not comedy for Mike & Yvette.

“Disagree Intelligently, Use Facts & Truth…..And Get A Pre-Nup!!”

  2. I could care less what he does. However, I’m sure he will. When so much money is involved, that’s how it goes because it’s not only a marriage but a business.

    • And that is the shame of it Ms. Totsy Mae….marriage is no longer a union of love, but a business arrangement for those in that tax bracket. That is so sad. Which is why my marriage days are over, if you can not trust your wife/husband….why bother. If you need a Pre-Nup….just say no.

      • Oooh, it may be a shame but it’s reality. So, you’re saying don’t marry is the better option? Really? Even in long term relationships, the other half gains spousal rights and privileges in some states.

You can say a pre-nup is an element of distrust but not signing one can also raise questions, don’t you think? Given Mike’s history, there are going to be some trust issues, even without the money. May even be an issue simply because he’s a man, for some women. So, it’s not all about Mike watching out. The woman he’s marrying has to do the same. Consider that I’m reflecting on a year of famous people whose marriages have gone south in this year alone. And then there are marriages where children are involved, where guys just refuse to do the right thing and they have the means to do so. Divorces can be ugly. My thinking is that a piece of paper, as a pre-nup, simplifies the process. Although I do hope Mike is successful this time. Time will tell and maybe the pre-nup, whether there is one or not, won’t be an issue…But…hmmm…there is that awkward moment of a lawyer presenting one.

      • Totysmae,
I directed my “Don’t do it Mike” because he will always be the one bringing the cash to a relationship. Not many women will match Mike’s financial status…which was the basis for my saying “Don’t do it Mike. Personally, at my advanced age, I do not believe in marriage for me. What other’s do is their concern. I also do not agree with any type of Pre-Nup…if I can’t trust a woman with my money, she is not the woman for me. I would also never live with a woman, especially in a state where community property is the law. I was homeless for 127 days because of an ex-wife attempting to get her hands on what was not hers. I speak from MY life experiences.

  3. You know me…I love it all, and of course agree!!!

  4. No big deal for Mike, his money is making money on the other money …Ha and I ‘m sure his attorneys have some kind of automatic Pre-Nup or contract arrangements…they looking out for their pockets too. Bet on that one.
