This is what those God fearing Americans will tell you when debating the issue of gun control…..
“You can have my gun, when you pry it from my cold dead hand“. I’m very cool with that. Handguns are for one thing, and one thing only, human death.
Guns should be outlawed, handguns, assault weapons, all types of guns except your most basic shotguns, which are used for hunting purposes/target shooting only. Target pistols are something I am not sure of just yet, because gun target competitions are big in the U.S. as well as Europe.
And here’s why gun control MUST happen….
MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. (AP) — An armed Iraq War veteran suspected of killing a Mount Rainier National Park ranger managed to evade snowshoe-wearing SWAT teams and dogs on his trail for nearly a day. He couldn’t, however, escape the cold.
A plane searching the remote wilderness for Benjamin Colton Barnes, 24, on Monday discovered his body lying partially submerged in an icy, snowy mountain creek with snow banks standing several feet high on either side.
“He was wearing T-shirt, a pair of jeans and one tennis shoe. That was it,” Pierce County Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Barnes did not have any external wounds and appears to have died due to the elements, he said. A medical examiner was at the scene to determine the cause of death. Troyer said two weapons were recovered, but he declined to say where they were located.
Barnes is believed to have fled to the remote park on Sunday to hide after an earlier shooting at a New Year‘s house party near Seattle that wounded four, two critically. Authorities suspect he then fatally shot ranger Margaret Anderson.
Anderson had set up a roadblock Sunday morning to stop a man who had blown through a checkpoint rangers use to check if vehicles have tire chains for winter conditions. A gunman opened fire on her before she was able to exit her vehicle, authorities say.
Before fleeing, the gunman fired shots at both Anderson and the ranger that trailed him, but only Anderson was hit.
Anderson would have been armed, as she was one of the rangers tasked with law enforcement, Bacher said. Troyer said she was shot before she had even got out of the vehicle.
Park superintendent Randy King said Anderson, a 34-year-old mother of two young girls who was married to another Rainier ranger, had served as a park ranger for about four years.
King said Anderson’s husband also was working as a ranger elsewhere in the park at the time of the shooting.
Gun violence in the United States is ranked the highest of any wealthy, civilized nation on the planet.
From suicides to violent crimes involving handguns, good old U.S.Of A. leads the way. Don’t take my word for it, just click on the highlighted links to read reports on handgun violence.
Second Amendment to the United States Constitution
The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights.
In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two Second Amendment decisions. In District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. Additionally, the Court enumerated several longstanding prohibitions and restrictions on firearms possession that it found were consistent with the Second Amendment. In McDonald v. Chicago (2010), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits state and local governments to the same extent that it limits the federal government.
There are several versions of the text of the Second Amendment, each with slight capitalization and punctuation differences, found in the official documents surrounding the adoption of the Bill of Rights. One version was passed by the Congress, while another is found in the copies distributed to the States and then ratified by them.
As passed by the Congress:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
The original hand-written copy of the Bill of Rights, approved by the House and Senate, was prepared by scribe William Lambert and resides in the National Archives.
Both versions of the 2nd Amendment state the opening portion of the bill as follows….”A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State”…. This proves my point why the right to bear arms should be revoked, repealed, abolished. This antiquated bill was written and adopted in 1751, when a well regulated militia was necessary. This is 2012 and the four branches of the United States Military make this 2nd amendment totally and utterly UNNECESSARY. There are also paid law enforcement agencies that further make the right to bear arms, out dated as well as the major cause of death in the United States Of America.
When will Americans wake up and realize self protection by handgun is a joke? You say you need your handgun for protection? Margaret Anderson was a trained, handgun toting Park Ranger, and she never cleared her weapon, and she is dead from a gunshot wound. And I’ll bet you dollars to donuts, Ms. Margaret Anderson, Mount Rainier Park Ranger, was better trained in handgun usage than you.

The point the person was trying to make is regards to the history of gun control laws being used by governments to enact genocide. An example of this would be Dafur, Sudan which has some of the harshest laws in regards to gun control.
“The prohibition lobbies and their U.N. allies will tell you that people never need guns for protection—not for protection from rapists, and not for protection from genocidaires. Governments and the United Nations will protect everyone. The tragedy of disarmed victims in the Sudan, and all over Africa, shows the deadly falseness of the prohibitionist promise. For decades, millions of Africans have been slaughtered by genocidal tyrants while the rest of the world stood idle. Now, the United Nations has become objectively complicit in genocide, by trying to ensure that never again will anyone targeted for genocide be able to use a firearm to save herself or her family.”
Also gun control laws also had a hand in the holocoust. It was said that Hitler had actually used the firearms registration lists to confiscate guns and execute the owners. History is riddled with examples of what happens when people depend on the government for protection, hell in a lot of places when you call the cops (for a burglery for an example) it takes awhile for the cops to get there if they bother to show up at all.
Also if gun ownership was outlawed outright, it would…like many other things made illegal…..NOT help with gun violence it would simply drive the market underground (where there are no regulations in regards to crime checks and education). Also the gun that man has in that photo you can’t walk into a average gun store to buy,

I’m not a gun owner and have never been a fan of guns. I dont let my kids play with anything even resembling a gun…..but I like getting to make that decision for myself instead of someone else deciding for me. Should there be laws in place to keep those convicted of violent crimes from getting guns? of course! Having to undergo extensive safety training? of course. But in the end it has everything to do personal responsibility and education.
Sorry, but handguns are not the weapon used in Sudan/Dafur, that would be assault weapons, and those and handguns need to be removed. You don’t get to make a choice to drive drunk, or smoke weed, or shoot cocaine, and you have no right or need to have a handgun or an assault rifle. Using the holocaust as a support against gun control is stupid. A psycho leader was responsible for the Jewish holocaust, not gun control, I have no clue where you get your information from but it is incorrect. If you remove handguns and assault weapons from the hands of Americans citizens, you do not have wars or uprisings…you get no murder by handguns or assault weapons. This ain’t rocket science. Americans like you are pathetic….”make that decision for myself”….see that makes no sense because you say….”I’m not a gun owner and have never been a fan of guns. I dont let my kids play with anything even resembling a gun…..but I like getting to make that decision for myself instead of someone else deciding for me”….this is the dumbest thing in support of having guns I have ever read. People don’t used common sense when defending their right to bars arms…which is NOT a right at all….this ain’t 1756.
The right to bear arms, has to do with the possibility of the need to over throw the government. It is not about hunting. We have seen so many times, the government has overthrown groups of people because of the possession of guns.,( waco or ruby ridge). No one can really collect that many guns and not get the attention of the government.
The soldier that shot the park ranger was so wrong. He needed to be decompressed before being release back to his family. How many times do we need to see this before we take action.
Ms. Witham,
I can see from your comments you either didn’t read this article, or didn’t comprehend what I wrote. please never bring the crazy ass psycho freaks from Ruby Ridge up to me in defense of gun control, didn’t you read what I wrote about intelligent factual comments to this post? Over throw the government…are you smoking weed? Wake the phuck up (NanaLou, see i didn’t type fuck after all) and realize not one word you types makes any damn sense except this solider decompressing, and being assisted by the VA. Reading Comprehension IS Fundamental.
