The Obama campaign is going for the jugular in a scathing new campaign ad tearing into Donald Trump and his birtherism, released in conjunction with Mitt Romney‘s Trump fundraiser in Las Vegas.
The ad reminds viewers that Romney has stuck by Trump despite his doubling down that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States.
The ad features footage from the 2008 presidential campaign of Arizona SenatorJohn McCain repudiating a woman who calls Obama an Arab. “No Ma’am,” McCain said. “He’s a decent, family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with.” This is juxtaposed with Trump’s many media appearances espousing his birther conspiracy theories with a hillbilly soundtrack. The Hill’s Christian Heinze surmises “the implication, I’m guessing, is that birtherism is an ignorant, kooky theory that’s indulged by “Doomsday Preppers” you’d see on the National Geographic Channel.”
I remember when POTUS Obama was “forced” to disavow & distance himself from Rev. Jeremiah Wright because caucasian racist people didn’t like the truth Rev. Wright spoke from his pulpit about America being a racist elitists country.
Donald Trump is spewing racist hate based lies, where is the call for Mitt Romney to disavow & distance himself from Trump?
If I were POTUS Obama, tomorrow I’d schedule a Chicago fundraiser with Rev. Goodness – if people can only stick to the issues. I like how Obama doesn’t endorse such nonsense. I give props to McCain for having corrected the ignorant statements from those ignorant people.
