Sour Orange Pulled Pork

Sour Orange Pulled Pork

With the election out of the way, forget about going red or blue and go orange with this recipe for Sour Orange Pulled Pork. The country may be divided on candidates, but (barring religious regions) we can all agree on the deliciousness that is pulled pork.

The sourness of the Sour Orange Pulled Pork goes great over a bed of mashed sweet potatoes. It’s a sour, sweet, salty, fatty combo that’s a great treat.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 12 garlic cloves, mashed into a paste
  • 1 4-lb. bone-in pork shoulder
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 3 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup plus 1 TBSP honey
  • 3 large sweet potatoes
  • 3 TBSP butter
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Directions:

    Sour Orange Pulled Pork

Sour Orange Pulled Pork is slow cooked in a mixture of orange and lime juice.

This is absolutely beautiful, especially the Karl Rove meltdown.

It sometimes seemed it would never happen, but it has. The 2012 presidential election is over.

The robocalls have stopped. The ads are gone. There are no new polls for pundits to pick apart, no new stump speech sound bites to discuss, no advisers spinning data points.

The people have spoken, and they have invited President Barack Obama to spend another 4 years in the White House.

As those of you who read my blog regularly already know, I was cautiously optimistic about this election. I never, ever take for granted that things will go a certain way in any election, particularly not one as hotly contested and as closely run as this one has been. With all of the possibilities for chaos and confusion, I truly did not know what would end up being the final word yesterday, or even if there WOULD be a final word yesterday.

No battle has ever been won by a single solider. Not one war has been successful because of one battle. It takes a village to raise a child and last nights historic Presidential victory for America, and Barack Hussein ObamaJoseph Robinette “Joe” Biden, Jr., was a direct result of a grassroots campaign the likes of “never before”.

I will take this moment in time to give thanks & praise to a few of the members of the bloggersphere who were instrumental in spreading the truth & facts about politics and the Presidential campaign.

I am sure I am missing some bloggers and their blog work in support of the Obama Administration, charge that omission to my head and not my heart.
