Jueseppi B.:

I think Mr. Guy Fieri is a joke. I have tasted 1st hand the food served at a3 of his restaurants and been disappointed 3 times in service and taste as well as food quality. In my UNhumble opinion, no human alive can manage/run more than 2 restaurants successfully. It takes way too much attention to detail to manage/run more than 2 at a time.

While I am ranting/venting….Food Network used to be a good network for learning how to cook and good cooking techniques. Now the Food Network has become a reality TV cooking competition garbage can.

Restaurant Review: Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar in Times Square

GUY FIERI, have you eaten at your new restaurant in Times Square? Have you pulled up one of the 500 seats at Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar and ordered a meal? Did you eat the food? Did it live up to your expectations?

Did panic grip your soul as you stared into the whirling hypno wheel of the menu, where

“DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT’S IN HERE‽‽‽‽‽”

adjectives and nouns spin in a crazy vortex? When you saw the burger described as “Guy’s Pat LaFrieda custom blend, all-natural Creekstone Farm Black Angus beef patty, LTOP (lettuce, tomato, onion + pickle), SMC (super-melty-cheese) and a slathering of Donkey Sauce on garlic-buttered brioche,” did your mind touch the void for a minute?

Did you notice that the…

  1. I hate Guy also. All of his food is heavy and dripping with excess fat.
I love American food too but I would like to think it goes beyond ground beef; cheese; grease; onions; and bread; Guy’s favorite ingredients I believe. Heart attack guarenteed with every meal.

      • Sounds great. I was telling my wife that you wished us a Happy Thanksgiving and she said, “Tell Jueseppi he’s welcome to come over for dinner tomorrow.” I told her you are a chef so she said, “Tell him he’s welcome to come over for dinner; and to cook it then.” LOL My wife is doing the usual Turkey; but for me she’s roasting a nice leg of lamb. Medium-Rare and covered in Rosemary. She’s a great cook but only if you let her cook for eight to ten people. I’m telling you; if I had the money that we have spent over the 23 years we have been married; on food that we gave away; I would be sittin’ pretty. But me thinks there be a method to her madness. She used to make me drive her into town to give the leftovers to the homeless people. She’s a good woman; a better person than I. I approve; it’s just that I probably wouldn’t have thought of it. When we lived in Government subsidized housing back in the early 90s; she would just feed the neighbors. Seems there was always someone who was having a hard time. She’s been good for me; made a better person of me; I mean; now when I see a homeless person sitting on the pavement in front of me; I step OVER them. LOL Man; the humor just keeps on getting better around here; huh? Hey; take care; have a great holiday and give our love and best wishes to anybody you see tomorrow Peace

      • You are truly blessed Mark. Women, good women, make us better men. Say hello to your wife and you both should know if I were close to your home, I’d be there tomorrow helping her cook. Namaste Mark.

  2. I find Guy Fieri to be such an annoying TV host, that I can’t imagine paying to eat at any of his restaurants. From what I’ve seen of his cooking skills on various Food Network shows, Fieri doesn’t give me the impression of being particularly innovative or original.

But all of this goes to the heart of the mind-numbing culture of celebrity that has enable the most mediocre and talentless of individuals to be labeled as “special”.

Instead of wasting good money eating at a “celebrity chef’s” restaurant where the portions are tiny, the service is rude and pretentious and it’s vastly overpriced? Find a good “Mom and Pop” restaurant to patronize, the food is heaps better, the service is friendly and you’re supporting a small business.

    • You are absolutely 5000% correct Ms. Richards. I agree with everything you said. His show “Diners Drive-in’s & Dives” is exactly what I patronize…small mom & pop places, places with local flavor, and off the map. I am not a fan of many celebrity chefs….it’s the quiet unknown chefs/cooks who do the real culinary creating.

Glad you are here Mr. Richards. ;-)
