In the wake of the Newtown Tragedy and the creeping holocaust of gun deaths that plague this nation we must finally address the problem that we have been facing for years: inept, unenforced, and impotent gun laws and regulations. I will use this blog to address the problem of a violence culture that plagues our society at another time, but for now I simply wish to outline some simple, Constitutional regulations that will make people safer and make our gun laws up to the international standard observed in most Industrialized nations.
The flies are quick
to the dead and dying,
hovering close to the draft
of one more shallow breath...
Day becomes dusk...
dusk becomes night,
and night fights off the dawn...
to retain a little piece of darkness..
in a dusty corner...
of lights seemingly, friendly face...
A beautiful tapestry it becomes...
the gentle contortions...

On the one week anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, comes this news:
By Associated Press, Updated: Friday, December 21, 4:08 PM
HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. — A man fatally shot a woman decorating for a children’s Christmas party at a tiny church hall and killed two men elsewhere in a rural central Pennsylvania township Friday before he was fatally shot in a gunfight with state troopers.
The shootings began in Frankstown Township at about 9 a.m. and investigators were processing five crime scenes within about a 1.5-mile radius, authorities said at a news briefing Friday afternoon. The troopers were responding to a 911 call of a shooting in the township when they heard calls reporting at least one other shooting elsewhere, state police spokeswoman Maria Finn said.
Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio said that there “might be some relation” between at least two of the victims in and around the tiny village in Geeseytown, about 70 miles west of Harrisburg.
The woman at Juniata Valley Gospel Church had cooked food the day before for the funeral of the longtime pastor, said the Rev. James McCaulley, his brother. The central Pennsylvania church was still reeling from the Rev. David McCaulley’s death when the woman returned to decorate the church hall — named after the pastor of 58 years — and bullets ripped through a window, he said.
The gunman then entered and shot one of two women before he left, the Rev. James McCaulley said.

A gunman killed three people Friday in central Pennsylvania, including a woman in a church, before police shot him dead, authorities said. Three state troopers were injured, including one who was shot twice in the chest but survived thanks to his bulletproof vest. Pennsylvania State Police said the man killed the three people at three different locations, including the church and a private home in Frankstown Township, about 75 miles west of Harrisburg.
About 9 a.m. ET, the gunman fired into the church, killing the woman, before shooting and killing a man at a private residence, police said. Those shootings may have been related, Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio said. As the gunman fled, his pickup truck crashed into a second vehicle, and he shot and killed the other driver, police said. The truck subsequently crashed into a car driven by one of the troopers on Juniata Valley Road near Geeseytown, and the gunman got out and began firing. The troopers returned fire, killing the suspect, police said.
The woman was killed at Juniata Valley Gospel Church in Frankstown Township, the Rev. James McCaulley, brother of the church’s late pastor, told The Associated Press. McCaulley, who was in town after having presided over his brother’s funeral Thursday, told the AP that the woman was struck by gunshots that flew through a window of the church hall as she was decorating for a children’s Christmas party.

Mike Huckabee…..so much for your theory about prayer being what caused the Newtown School shooting….prayer preventing shootings is a myth, since this happened in a church.
Besides putting armed police in schools, maybe we should also put armed law enforcement in our places of worship as well?
Maybe we can blame this massacre on the winter solstice??

Today’s NRA press conference was a shameful evasion of the crisis our country is facing. Their proposed solution to reduce mass shootings like the one in Newtown, CT: put armed guards in every school in America.
The NRA’s extreme leadership has completely lost touch with the American people, their members, and reality. Today, they made it even more clear with what they didn’t say:
Not a word about background checks. Not a word about assault weapons and high capacity magazines. Not a word about ending gun trafficking.
Not an ounce of common sense.
Please join me in rejecting the NRA’s vision of a world where everyone is armed and no one is safe.
You would think that following the execution of 20 first graders, the NRA would finally come around to the need for common sense gun laws. Instead, they doubled down on their extreme agenda.
What we need are the tough new laws that we know will keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people and protect our children.
What we don’t need is a culture of fear that increases gun sales while putting our families at even greater risk.
Tell your members of Congress that it’s time to stand up to the NRA:
Thanks you for standing against the gun lobby,

President Obama Nominates John Kerry for Secretary of State
Published on Dec 21, 2012
President Obama announces Senator John Kerry as his nominee to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. December 21, 2012.
I do not like Sen. Kerry because he was weak during his Presidential campaign, when he allowed the Swift Boat idiots to derail his pursuit of The White House. It appeared to me then, that Sen. Kerry was not up to the task of fighting for the office of President of The United States.
Has he grown a pair of cojones after having none in 2004?
He will need a big brass pair to follow in the high heels of Secretary Of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
She took nobodies bull feces.
But I am against this nomination on a much more personal note. I admire and respect Ambassador Susan Elizabeth Rice, whom has worked hard to get where she is, not marry into wealth and politics as Sen. Kerry has done. Ambassador Rice is intelligent, smart, diplomatic and sharp, as is our President. She was abused and misused by a few racist, antique and jealous caucasian Congressmen.
The fact that several Congressional members used lies and misinformation to character assassinate Ambassador Rice, and we Americans allowed that to happen, makes me ill. We continue to allow politicians and the media, to spread lies and blatantly evil nasty rumors as the truth and facts.
That needs to stop now.
POTUS Obama and I disagree on this nomination. I disagree because appointing Sen. Kerry creates a vacant seat in the United States Senate. A seat the TeaTardedRepubliCANTS want very badly. That is the lone reason The GOPretenders screamed Kerry’s name so loudly when Ambassador Rice was forced to withdraw her name as a candidate for Secretary Of State.
If They win that vacant seat in a special election……
My second reason for not liking Sen. John Kerry as Secretary Of State is simple dislike for the goal of the TeaTardedRepubliCANTS, to pick and choose who Barack Obama has in his cabinet. For thinking they have a right to dictate who President Obama picks for HIS cabinet…before HE even decides whom HE wants for HIS cabinet.
That has never been the protocol for cabinet selection in the past, so why, now, does the Reich wing believe they can set a precedent for the 44th POTUS when the past 43 POTUS had no involvement from the opposition party in cabinet selection?
Allow me to tell you why: Racism. Hatred. Envy. Jealously.
GOPretenders still can not accept they lost on November 6th, 2012.
They believe they can choose the next Presidential cabinet.
And steal a Senate seat as well……BUT I support MY POTUS 5000%.
He is smarter than I.

Boehner's Plan B came with a lot of baggage and was a very bad bill. But he and the media concentrated on the tax increase threshold mainly, and the amount of the rate increase secondarily. Few if any reported on the balance of Plan B, leaving the capital gains and the estate taxes unchanged and slashing many parts of the safety net.
