From Yahoo Sports: It’s no surprise that Nike announced on Monday that Rory McIlroy would be joining their staff. It’s something we’ve all known for months was going to happen, and the company was so jazzed for the No. 1 player in the world to be on their team that they aired golf’s version of the Bird-Jordan H-O-R-S-E game.
McIlroy and Woods are on a range, hitting golf shots and poking fun at one another. It’s exactly what you’d expect from Nike, who continually puts out the best commercials in the game and now has a brand new star to play with.

This could truly be an unforgettable year for the PGA. The pool of talented players with a legitimate shot to notch tournament wins is deeper than ever, but more importantly than that, the sport’s two dominant figures are both primed to give us a huge year.
World No. 1 Rory McIlroy and No. 2 Tiger Woods are both healthy, grooved and ready to roll.
Not surprisingly, this fact has not been lost on Nike. The apparel company has long had a relationship with Tiger and now they’ve added McIlroy to the mix.
How great is that? It reminds me of the classic McDonald’s commercial where Larry Bird and Michael Jordan embark on an epic game of H-O-R-S-E. Just like that great spot, these two superstars build chemistry through their transparent competitiveness.

While this commercial is an entertaining spot that stands up on its own right, what it really does at this moment is get me jacked for the upcoming year.
