BEHIND THE SCENES: WRITING THE 2012 STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

THE STATE OF THE UNION 2012
“Think about the America within our reach: A country that leads the world in educating its people. An America that attracts a new generation of high-tech manufacturing and high-paying jobs. A future where we’re in control of our own energy, and our security and prosperity aren’t so tied to unstable parts of the world. An economy built to last, where hard work pays off, and responsibility is rewarded.”

THE STATE OF THE UNION 2012
“Every person in this chamber can point to a teacher who changed the trajectory of their lives. Most teachers work tirelessly, with modest pay, sometimes digging into their own pocket for school supplies — just to make a difference. Teachers matter. So instead of bashing them, or defending the status quo, let’s offer schools a deal. Give them the resources to keep good teachers on the job, and reward the best ones.”

“Let’s never forget: Millions of Americans who work hard and play by the rules every day deserve a government and a financial system that do the same. It’s time to apply the same rules from top to bottom. No bailouts, no handouts, and no copouts. An America built to last insists on responsibility from everybody. ”

“Each time I look at that flag, I’m reminded that our destiny is stitched together like those 50 stars and those 13 stripes. No one built this country on their own. This nation is great because we built it together.”

  1. Honestly, I am not sure how long, but it’s no where near as fast as I would have liked of course. The job was going well for my 1st 2 full days lol then I got sick and I am clear to return on Tuesday so I will know better after I go back with my hospital return to work papers …

  2. Can’t wait for the SOTU on Tuesday Peas, Missed, Just FYI, I was hit with the FLU so just been recovering and wanted you to know. How are you, how are things going on the project you spoke about? I have been checking my email so you can still send anything I need to know, do or assist with to me Peas. Keep doing the best of you :)

    • You’re getting over the flu…..thats not good. I have a curious question, did you have your flu shot? I never have taken a flu shot in my life, against all doctors advice, and have never had the flu. I am curious if you have been taking your flu shot because I have a theory, taking that flu shot is the reason why some actually get the flu.

I am still doing research on the project, I’ll keep you informed.

I am doing well, staying on my J.O.B. with politics. Glad you’re doing well, wish you were around more. 8-)

      • No Peas I don’t do Flu shots for that very reason, years ago I was made to get 3 flu shots in my life and each time I got so sick…with the freakin flu. I worked in the hospital for over 3 years and never got the flu, however my mom and niece had the Flu thinking it was a cold and that’s how I got exposed but my awareness to take extra precaution when dealing and living this close is now back on top of my mind. The 1st thing everyone said of course was Now you need to start getting your flu shots. That’s not going to happen, like you I have too many years of positive proof for me against Flu shots …but hey I am not against them for anyone they work for. I know they don’t work in my favor. I will be glad when I am around more too or at least more consistently again. I miss you much but love that you are still going strong and making that difference I so strongly knew Mr Hack was meant to do! Looking forward to the project and just getting back on my own track. <3

      • How long before you’re online regularly? How is the job going? 8O
