I just love your site. So educational and informative. I wrote a post on Civil Rights activist who did a lot for promoting equal rights in San Diego, and thought I’d share with you: http://www.kpbs.org/news/2013/feb/01/dr-carrol-waymon-san-diegos-civil-rights-hero/
Now 88, he’s truly a remarkable man.
I am going right now to read this. Thank you so much Ms. Monica, your words mean so much to me…..be back as soon as I read your piece.
Oh wow….I wish I could repost this article to my blog, it would be perfect for inclusion in my Black History Moment series. You are a remarkable writer, and believe this or not, I never heard of Dr. Carrol Waymon. I am grateful that you shared this with me Ms. Monica.
You are too kind, Jueseppi, and I am so glad I could introduce you to Dr. Waymon. Of course you can reblog, and I would so love it if you did. Men like Dr. Waymon are unsung heroes. So, just cut and paste the first paragraph or two into a blog post, and include the link, so your readers can read the rest. That’s perfectly fine.
Here’s another one I wrote about a teacher who’s made it his life mission to create an African museum, one that is truly amazing. He makes history come alive by dressing like Frederick Douglass and other noted historical figures. http://www.kpbs.org/news/2013/jan/30/museum-chuck-ambers-built/
Thank you, will do exactly that. I’ll post a link in your comments section to the finished product.
