Reblogged from Simple Kitchen Seasons:
So many vegetarians I talk to all say the same thing:
"I like rice and beans, but..."
"I eat too much cheese..."
"Breakfast/lunch/dinner looks like a steam table at some cheap buffet..."
"Another stir-fry/tofu/tempeh/seitan/fake meat thing?"
"I don't live on salad alone..."
"Steamed vegetables? I don't want 'healthy'...I want 'exciting'..."
This is a trap that everyone falls into, even professional chefs.

I’ll have to try this. I need a different way of cooking cabbage.
This sounds YummY, anything with bacon or a variant of bacon….has my flavor stamp of approval.
Bacon….Hmph.
Bacon….YummY, you meant…..right?
Not yummy. It has a salty taste. I didn’t like ham for that same reason, when I ate pork years ago. I have to find replacements for that. But you’re a chef, as is my son, and more willing to try this and that.
There is no meat more delicious than bacon. Period. On this issue we will have to fight to the death….or you coming to your senses.
Now do not sass me girl.
I’ll win that easily. No prob.
Will you now? Cause you’re a superwoman!!!!
Well, not exactly. I can drive away really fast and that’ll settle that.
Yes, that is one way to escape our Bacon Fight…..
