An organization of family members of someone who has died, offering support, understanding, encouragement and hope to other bereaved family members, with chapters all over the nation.



Brady Center’s Legal Action Project
The Legal Action Project brings cases on behalf of individual victims of gun violence, from lawsuits against the makers of assault weapons used in mass shootings, to actions against handgun makers whose unsafe designs allow children to die in unintentional shootings.



Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS)
Concerns of Police Survivors provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families and affected co-workers of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.



The Compassionate Friends
The Compassionate Friends supports bereaved families after the death of a child, with more than 600 chapters with locations in all 50 states, DC, and Puerto Rico.



Fight Crime Invest in Kids
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids is led by more than 4,000 police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, other law enforcement leaders, and has a victim division of violence survivors dedicated to preventing crime and violence.

We’re down to the last days of Black History Month and I haven’t focused very much on it.   Like at all.   I’m of the belief Black History Month has gone on past its sell-by date, but that’s not my focus today.   I was given a reason to pay some attention  when found out some enterprising conservatives had seized upon  Malcolm X  ripping Democrats a new hole with his “political chumps” speech

First they came for Dr. King and tried to turn him into a Republican and now its Brother Malcolm  who is next in line to be body-snatched by the Right.
