2:30 AM: The Vice President attends an official welcome ceremony, The Great Hall of the People.

 

2:45 AM: The Vice President meets with Vice President Li Yuanchao.

 

3:30 AM: The Vice President and President Xi Jinping hold a restricted bilateral meeting.

 

4:15 AM: The Vice President and President Xi hold an expanded bilateral meeting.

Japan, China and the Republic of Korea

 

The Vice President is on a six-day trip to Japan, China and the Republic of Korea — starting in Tokyo, Japan. In each country, the Vice President will meet with key leaders to discuss a full range of bilateral, regional and global issues. The trip will reaffirm our enduring presence as a Pacific power, promote our economic and trade interests, and underscore our commitment to rebalancing U.S. foreign policy towards the Asia-Pacific.

  • In the evening, the Vice President will attend a dinner hosted by President Xi.

 

 

 

THURSDAY

  • In the morning, the Vice President holds a bilateral meeting with Premier Li Keqiang of China.
  • Afterwards, Vice President Biden will attend a lunch hosted by Vice President Li Yuanchao of China.
  • Later in the afternoon, Vice President Biden departs Beijing and arrives in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

 

 

 

FRIDAY

  • In the morning, Vice President Biden attends a bilateral meeting with President Park of the Republic of Korea.
  • Later, he gives a speech on U.S.-Korea Relations and the U.S. policy towards the Asia-Pacific at Yonsei University.
  • Then, he holds a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Chung Hongwon of the Republic of Korea.

 

 

 

SATURDAY

  • In the morning, Vice President Biden participates in a wreath-laying at the War Memorial of Korea.
  • In the afternoon, Vice President Biden visits the demilitarized zone.

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

 

Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks on the economy at an event hosted by the Center for American Progress. The President will discuss the twin challenges of growing income inequality and shrinking economic mobility and how they pose a fundamental threat to the American Dream. The President’s remarks are open to pre-credentialed media.

 

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at the White House Youth Summit on the Affordable Care Act. The summit will bring together over 160 national and local young leaders with a broad reach in their communities to help get the word out to young Americans about how to enroll. The President’s remarks are open press.

 

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of the Treasury Lew in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

 

10:00 AM: THE PRESIDENT receives the Presidential Daily Briefing, Oval Office.

 

 

11:15 AM: THE PRESIDENT delivers remarks on the economy, Center for American Progress.

 

 

1:30 – 2:30 PM (approximate): First Lady Michelle Obama unveils the White House holiday decorations to military families.

      • All of them! They were long but informative. It’s uplifting to hear good things about ObamaCare and to have the negatives dispelled for the lies or myths that they are. I am so proud of Barack I could dance – since I can’t dance I’ll smile – or break out into intermittent joyful song!

      • When you have a Barack working for you after 8 years of Dubbya…..well you feel joyous.
