Social Media: The Pitfalls Of Stalkers & Obsessive Haters

By Jueseppi B.

It’s a very slow news week with President Of The United States Of America, Barack Hussein Obama and the First Family, vacationing in Hawaii until January 5th, 2014….for a well deserved Christmas/New Years holiday.

Even on vacation, Barack is loaded with swag. Hawaii, Dec 21, 2013

Even on vacation, Barack is loaded with swag. Hawaii, Dec 21, 2013

So I decided I would do this post on social media stalking and obsessed haters.

The name of my blog, my pride & joy, is TheObamaCrat™, as you can plainly see from the banners designed by Ms. Michelle of Motley News & Photos.

As you can see, in the image above, there is a person that has decided to mimic my website/blog on a Twitter account by using the name @TheObamaCat, which would be perfectly fine with me except this same individual has been stalking my blog and my twitter account for 2 years. I don’t actually mind that either, because every time this person comes to my blog, and post my content on his/her Twitter account, it gives me free publicity for my blog. Saves me advertising dollars as well.

The thing I don’t appreciate is @Twitter not having an adequate blocking policy. If you block someone on your @Twitter account who you want blocked, that person can still access your @Twitter feed and tweets and even your @Twitter home page simply by clicking on your @Twitter handle. So every time @TheObamaCat clicks on my @Twitter handle, @MrMilitantNegro, he/she has access to my @Twitter account’s home page even though he/she has been blocked for over two years.

There is an option called spam blocking that works only slightly better in that spam blocking alerts @Twitter to that person having been blocked for spam and they keep a watchful eye on that persons @Twitter account to see if it gets spammed blocked often, which will result in an account suspension for said account. The spammed blocked @Twitter account still has limited access to YOUR @twitter account.

The final option available to a @Twitter member who wants to block total access to your account by idiots, racist, haters and obsessed stalkers is called “Protecting Your Tweets.”

This option has to be accomplishing by going into your “Settings” then scrolling down to “Security & Privacy.” Next scroll down to “Privacy” and lastly you will see “Tweet Privacy”. Click the box next to “Tweet Privacy”, click “save” at the bottom of the page and a pop up box requiring your password will appear.  Enter your @Twitter password then click OK and you are good to go. Your @twitter account is now tweet protected which means NOTHING happens without your approval.

Now every solution usually has a drawback or two….The drawback with “Protected Tweets” is nobody has the option of retweeting your tweets. Retweeting is a very helpful tool in sharing or marketing a tweet you like and agree with/approve….or want to use in a way of voicing your disapproval and dislike. Either way if you “Protect Your Tweets”, retweeting is gone.

I had to lock down (“Protect My Tweets”) because this doofus…….

obamacatIs obsessed with my blog and my @Twitter account. He/she uses two reasons to have a psychotic interest in me:

1). This person hates that I was a POW for 18 months while in the military, and claims my history in the military is false. How do you suppose a person can verify my past, not having access to or knowing my name, birthday or any other form of information on me? Suffice it to say, my name is NOT Jueseppi.

2). This person dislikes I buy @Twitter followers. I am still wondering what, why or how I do whatever I desire to do on @Twitter, is of any concern to @TheObamaCat, but that aside….YES, I do buy Twitter followers. I own two blogs, one is TheObamaCrat™, the other shall remain a secret. The reason I choose to purchase @Twitter followers is a simple marketing/advertising tool, which I learned in college: the greatest exposure you have for a business gives your business the greatest chance for success.

@Twitter had 400,000 tweets posted per quarter in 2007. This grew to 100 million tweets posted per quarter in 2008. In February 2010, Twitter users were sending 50 million tweets per day. By March 2010, the company recorded over 70,000 registered applications. As of June 2010, about 65 million tweets were posted each day, equaling about 750 tweets sent each second, according to Twitter. As of March 2011, that was about 140 million tweets posted daily. As noted on Compete.com, Twitter moved up to the third-highest-ranking social networking site in January 2009 from its previous rank of twenty-second.

Now if you owned any type of business and had a lick of business sense/savvy….wouldn’t YOU build a @Twitter following to attract @Twitter members to YOUR business?

I am putting this blog post together because I believe I should help @TheObamaCat get his/her hate/obsession/stalker campaign against me, my blog and my @Twitter account….more publicity by giving it a shot in the arm….using my bought & paid for @Twitter followers

When you have a spare moment, stop by @TheObamaCat and take a gander at just how many of it’s tweets contain my name, but hurry, something tells me the huge number of tweets devoted to @MrMilitantNegro will soon be deleted.

Oh one more thing, I almost forgot….just about every single @Twitter account I follow, or that follows me, has also been followed by @TheObamaCat, and he/she tries to mimic and impersonate me in his/her tweets to those who follow me. This blog goes out to ALL my @Twitter followers, a warning…..@TheObamaCat is NOT @MrMilitantNegro OR TheObamaCrat™ blog, no matter how hard he/she tries to be me. It. is. Not. Me.

Impersonation may be the sincerest form of flattery, it also may be a form of Identity Theft. Be careful on all social media apps and programs…protect yourselves Ya’ll. Never use real personal information…..@TheObamaCat is why.

  2. Made sure I was one of your free followers! This had me squirming a bit. People who do this should be hit in the face with a hammer.

    • I was bored and it was a slow news day when I did this post, but to be honest, I get more people visiting my blog from the stupid stuff this stalker does than anything else. I believe blogging is all about sharing information, and my stalker helps me shar my blog & Twitter post…and is too dumb to realize that.

      Happy Holidays ♥ Happy Hanukkah ♥ Happy Kwanzaa ♥ Merry Christmas ♥ AND A Happy New 2014 ♥ (*‿*)

  3. Added myself to your free followers, “Jueseppi”. Will watch out for that cat.

    • Here’s a secret Mr. X, I’m a cheap bastard and really don’t have “paid for” followers but saying I do makes that cat so angry, that I just can’t resist saying I have paid for followers. I admit I get a kick out of pushing her buttons.

      Thank u for following me.

  4. Jueseppi, one thing I discovered is that even when impersonating or plain harassing, those doing so drive traffic to your blog. It’s like free advertising.

What they intend for evil, God uses for good.

    • You are so right, I discovered that early on in this hot mess of the bloggersphere.

      • The impersonator presents on their Twitter that their blog is the Whitehouse.gov. Anyone with an ounce of sense knows that the impersonator is not President Obama, so that person impugns their own character by doing that.

When the imitator lurks on your blog and tweets out blog articles that you have reblogged, what is it that people see in the comment section? Your handle and the URL to your blog.

So, the imitator might think they’re being sneaky and smart, but are leading people to evidence that they are simply an imitator, while at the same time, increasing visitors and supporters for your blog.

      • Exactly. Now 4 a completely different subject…did u see the Bears lose 54 to 11?

      • LOL!! No, but I heard about it. My son watched the game. I know as much as sports as I do about the moon. :-)

      • The Bears suck ass.

  5. Jueseppi, when I was looking for you on Twitter, I found the ObamaCat and thought that was your Twitter handle. Being fairly new to Twitter, I’m not quick to follow anyone without first reading the timeline to make sure it’s the right person. That person just doesn’t sound like you. It was as if they were trying to mock you.

My Twitter account is protected and while it has its drawbacks, I choose that option because I know there are people who want to cut my throat.

Well, we know that you must be doing something right, because who wants to impersonate a loser.

    • Xena I am torn between protected and unprotected because so many want to retweet the tweets I have…it simply means Twitter needs to improve it’s simple block policy.

Pisses me off that I have to choose between MY account being open or closed because of a dumbass.

      • Jueseppi, I feel the same way. I also understand that unless someone is approved to follow a protected account, that your tweets to others go into a black hole. That means I cannot Tweet news sources and such when they ask for opinions.

Maybe this calls for two accounts; 1 for our blogging interests, and another for our personal interests. But, that’s so much work. (sigh)

      • Yeah, I’m way too lazy for that. oh well.

  6. I’m one of your ‘free’ followers, and enjoy your tweets a lot. I wondered why there seemed to be two accounts, and now I know. I agree – scary stuff. Really, really weird.

  7. Scary stuff.
