The potatoes almost look like blue corn chips

This is a great first course or snack. It also works well for a party or tapas night. Any small potato will work, like new or fingerling, the blue potatoes just look cool. Use full fat or fat free plain greek yogurt for this. I am a huge fan of the Greek Gods line.

Roasted New Potatoes with Pancetta Yogurt Dipping Sauce

  • 1 lb new potatoes washed and sliced in half
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • Coarse sea salt
  • 3 slices pancetta diced fine
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped fine
  • 1 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp dry sherry

Melt butter and toss with potatoes and sea salt. Spread out potatoes cut side down on a large baking sheet in one layer. Roast at 375 degrees until browned and crispy, flipping once. Meanwhile mix yogurt, parsley and sherry until smooth. In…

Brother Mistakes 13-Year Old Sister For Intruder And Shoots

Sidney M. Johnson, 20, was visiting his father’s home in Janesville, Wisconsin.  On Wednesday, he heard someone in a bedroom, got his dad’s 9 mm handgun, inserted a magazine, chambered a cartridge, and shot through the door, wounding his 13-year-old sister.  She yelled out his name.  That’s when he realized what had happened.

Officers at the scene found that the 13-year-old had been shot once by her brother.  The bullet hit her right tricep and grazed the right side of her torso.  She was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center where she was treated and released.

Marissa Alexander Won’t Return To Jail; Judge Says Violations “Unwillful”

marissa alexanderA judge has ruled that Marissa Alexander can remain free on bond after the Florida State Attorney filed a motion claiming that the defendant violated her release conditions numerous times, The Florida Times-Union reports.  Circuit Court Judge James Daniel denied Assistant State Attorney Richard Mantei‘s request to revoke Alexander’s bail for “going out shopping for clothes, driving family members to the hair shop and airport, getting a new driver’s license, visiting the bank and seeing a sister-in-law.”

Mantei’s stated to the judge that Alexander, 33, was on home detention while performing her errands. The conditions of her detention prohibit her from leaving her residence except for court appearances, medical emergencies and to satisfy any requirements of her pretrial services program. She has been free on bond since Thanksgiving after getting a new trial in her aggravated assault case for firing a warning shot during an altercation with…
