Not Our Words
Not our words. Survivors of gun violence and family members of victims speak the extremist words of gun lobby leaders — words that don’t speak for them or their experience with gun violence.
While our ad plays on TV, the NRA‘s Leadership Forum is meeting in Indianapolis. That group — made up of senators, governors, and celebrities — will repeat the same backwards ideas and pledge allegiance to policies so dangerous that not even the NRA’s own members support them.
We need to show the NRA leadership that survivors of gun violence and the vast majority of Americans believe in common-sense reforms to reduce gun violence. And that includes NRA members.
As you read this, moms and other supporters are hitting the streets of Indianapolis outside of the NRA’s convention. They’re bringing the message that Americans, including NRA members, want to stop gun violence in our country.
Our ad shows that the NRA’s leadership doesn’t have a clue about the reality of gun violence in America. And we intend to show them just how wrong they are.
Donations from Everytown members like you helped put this ad on the air in the first place. Now we need you to contact the NRA’s leadership — including people like former presidential candidate Rick Santorum and professional football player Adam Vinatieri — and tell them to watch our ad and listen to survivors of gun violence say the absurd words of some of the NRA’s most prominent national leaders:
Thanks for standing with us,
Everytown for Gun Safety
Everytown for Gun Safety is a movement of Americans fighting for common-sense gun policies. We are moms, mayors, survivors, and concerned citizens.

This is Not Your Grandparents’ NRA
The National Rifle Association served its members for over a century by promoting hunting, marksmanship, and safety training. It supported common-sense gun laws to license firearm dealers and restrict access to machine guns, and advocated for passage of real gun legislation.
That NRA no longer exists.
Read our new report about how the NRA’s leadership turned the organization into one that takes such extreme positions against gun safety that even its own members don’t support the ideas.
The NRA on…
The NRA fights to allow people on the terror watch list to own guns.
The NRA fights to allow people to bring in guns to bars, churches, and parks.
Law enforcement officers are undermined by the NRA, which fights to make it harder to track illegal guns.
