Erica Lafferty, Everytown For Gun Safety: A Video Message From Richard Martinez.
Santa Barbara victim’s father spoke and Americans responded
More than 600,000 supporters like you have helped spread Richard Martinez’s message to elected officials: Not One More person should have to die because leaders in Washington refuse to pass common-sense gun laws.
I joined Mr. Martinez and other survivors of gun violence to demand that our elected officials stop dragging their feet. It was powerful to stand alongside so many brave survivors and advocates — and we would not have been there without the support of people like you.
Mr. Martinez recorded this short thank you message to everyone who answered his call. Please watch and share his powerful message with your friends and family.
I know the pain of having a loved one murdered with a gun, and Mr. Martinez’s outspoken commitment to making sure no one else has to experience that same pain has moved a nation. It was inspiring to stand with him at this event, and to honor the commitment of supporters who have helped carry his message so far.
Your support has helped us share our stories all over the country, and show elected officials that we’re not going away until they do something to stop these tragedies from happening in the future. All of us — survivors, parents, and supporters — have to come together and show our commitment by standing strong on this call to action.
Please watch and share Mr. Martinez’s message of thanks right now.
Thanks for sharing this message, and for being a part of this incredible campaign.
