This election, 2016, has more people thinking about an alternative to the 2 major candidates….one is popular with old men and the other is popular with neocons……neither is truly that popular with the average voter…..

There has been a bit of a history with third party candidates (there I got my historical perspective in) and the NT Times has a pretty good piece on these candidates and their campaigns…..

Major third-party presidential candidates have never had an easy time of it, even when they were former presidents or billionaires.

Recent polls show the Libertarian Party nominee, Gary Johnson, at around 10 percent nationally, a relatively high number for a third-party candidate this late in the campaign season.
