Of course the day was not without it’s racial profiling in the great state of TexASS, as a delegate of Negroid persuasion was detained by KKKops in Houston, because “He Fit The Description” of a “suspect.”

Presumptive Green Party presidential nominee Dr. Jill Stein has reportedly selected human rights activist Ajamu Baraka as her vice presidential running mate.Dr. Stein made it official Monday on Twitter, saying she was “Honored to announce human rights champion Ajamu Baraka as my VP running mate!”On Baraka’s personal website, he is described as having “roots” in “the Black Liberation Movement and anti-apartheid and Central American solidarity struggles.” He was, until 2011, the Founding Executive Director of the US Human Rights Network. His work has been primarily in the humanitarian sector, and he has partnered with Amnesty International in the past.

He is an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC.Stein has been seeking to court jaded supporters of Bernie Sanders, who lost the Democratic Party’s nomination to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.According to Ballotpedia, the Green Party has qualified for 21 state ballots as of April 2016.Earlier Monday, Stein had teased on her Twitter account that her campaign had “not made a final offer on the VP spot,” and that she was still “in discussions with several strong candidates.”

Each Presidential Ticket Is Now Set As Jill Stein Picks A Running Mate

Published on Aug 1, 2016

It may have seemed like convention season was over after the Democratic National Convention, but third party candidates are still rounding their tickets into shape.

Presumptive Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein announced Monday she selected Ajamu Baraka as her running mate.

Stein’s press release describes Baraka as an “activist, writer, intellectual and organizer with a powerful voice, vision, and lifelong commitment to building true political revolution.”

The name likely isn’t familiar for many voters because he’s not a politician. But Baraka has a long track record with social justice causes. His website says he has worked with grassroots community organizers across the country as well as speaking in front of Congress and the United Nations about human rights issues.

The addition of Baraka should help solidify Stein as the most progressive ticket in the field. Stein picked up a massive amount of support after Bernie Sanders ended his campaign. Stein said she got ten times her normal donations in the 24 hours after Sanders officially left the race to endorse Hillary Clinton.

Baraka is a political outsider. Though he’s been involved with and commented on political issues, he’s never actually held public office.

That would likely be a disqualifying factor for a democratic or republican running mate, but the Green Party ticket isn’t under the same kind of pressure. The party is only on presidential ballots in 24 states.

Stein, like Clinton and Donald Trump, waited until the last minute to select a running mate. The Green Party convention is set to begin August 4 in Houston, Texas.
