Two Islands, One Culture: Dominica/St. Lucia Celebrate Creole Month in Canada

The islands of Dominica and St. Lucia will once again come together on Saturday October 1, 2016 to open Creole month in Canada with its signature showcase event: Two Islands: One Culture – A Creole Extravaganza.

The event is expected to draw a full house of patrons from the Commonwealth of Dominica and St. Lucia Diaspora, and friends of the Caribbean, who will come together to support this cultural extravaganza. The Commonwealth of Dominica, Ontario Association (CDOA) and the St. Lucia Toronto Association (SLTA) will host the evening.

One of the main highlights of the Cultural Extravaganza is the pageantry of the St. Lucia meets Dominica Madame Wob Creole competition. Six young ladies, three from Dominica and three from St. Lucia, will vie for the title of Madam Wob Creole 2016. The reigning Madame Wob Creole Hernica Dorival-Corriette of Roseau, Dominica, will crown the winner.
